Box 76201 * TAMPA, Fl. 33675 Dear Community Members and Friends: Welcome to Onyx Ski and Sports Club of Tampa Bay, Inc., the all seasons entertainment sports alternative for the Central Florida region.   Our club, now in its 14th year, seeks to combine the love of sports, particularly the winter sports of skiing and snowboarding, with a strong focus on youth development and family recreation.  We are an authorized club of the National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS), Eastern Region, the largest not-for profit organization of minority skiers and snowboarders in America.   The NBS mission is to "identify, develop, and support athletes of color who will win international and Olympic winter sports competitions representing the United States."  The resources required to support and promote elite athletes are extensive.  Contributions to the NBS Olympic Scholarship Fund are tax deductible and go directly to support Team NBS. Each year in October our club sponsors a charitable golf tournament.  Proceeds from the tournament go to support the NBS mission nationally, regionally, and to provide ski and snowboarding opportunities for club and community youth.    We also seek to provide other club sponsored wholesome recreational activities such as cruising, sailing, scuba diving, golfing, cultural and sports trips.  Our club is a member organization of the Florida Ski Council, which gives the added advantage of domestic and international travel.  Our members have traveled to resorts in the United States, Europe, the Caribbean and South America.  In 2011-2012, the club will continue making great plans for a full slate of activities that will take advantage of opportunities to travel, learn other cultures and educate.   Come join us as a member and see why we say that Onyx is the "best entertainment and sports alternative in Tampa Bay."
